Twinkle Twinkle Little Ramsgate
Ramsgate is looking more stunning than ever at the moment with a fantastic response from our local boat owners to decorate their boats to creat a dazzling display at our harbour. Even the arches have got in on the act this year to create an even more Christmassy feel to our town. This Wednesday, with the help of the public, I am helping out with the judging which is going to be even more difficult than last year. You can check out some more stunning images at Isle of thanet Gazette and if you're on facebook, you can see a clip of me and the boats on BBC News South East (9th December). It's been such a popular clip, there have been over 1700 shares and over 80,000 hits! The world is checking out Ramsgate's beautiful Illuminations! if you haven't seen them with your own eyes yet, don't worry they will be twinkling away until 6th January.
We've been busy at the B&B as well and this year, our hotel inspection came later than expected but we were awarded with an amazing 100% for cleanliness! Many of my regular guests will be pleased to know, we now have a lovely new front gate which was being hand built in the front garden the day of the inspection. Luckily, our inspector was happy to clamber over the bits of wood and didn't knock off any points for the disarray on her arrival!
The Ramsgate Town Team and many of our local artists have transformed a rather sad looking set of hoardings and turned them into a beautiful space with, so far, 11 beautiful paintings depicting the plight of the bumble bee - when you're next in town, it really is a must see but if you can't wait, here's a You Tube video clip of us (yes, I'm the one dressed as a bee!) singing our 'Save the Bees' song and the grand opening of the hoardings...enjoy and hope you have a very merry Christmas!
