Thanet at War 28th and 29th July

This weekend Ramsgate goes back in time for the third year running as it hosts the Thanet at War 1940’s Weekend.  This WWII re-enactment is held over two days from 28th July and is hosted by Bygone Days Historical Group. The tents, stalls and stages will be based at Government Acre, Royal Esplanade and will include displays and demonstrations with military vehicles, costumed re-enactors and entertainment from the 1940s.  One stage will show traditional 1940s entertainment and the other stage will feature local bands.  There’s plenty to do for children as well including a fun fair and Punch and Judy show.  Tickets are only £1 for adults and there is no charge for kids and the fun starts at 10am.

We have guests who come every year for the evening supper dance on Saturday where they get the opportunity to dress up in 1940s regalia for the night and this year the American themed supper dance includes special guest Miss Maybe Burlesque who I suspect isn’t going to read poetry.  To find out more about the weekend events and dinner dance click on this link (tickets for the dinner dance are £8 when bought in advance or £10 at the door) http://www.bygonedaysramsgate.co.uk
