Ramsgate's Granville Cinema is Great!

Last week we went to see 'Thanet on Film II - the Ramsgate Edition' and it was a good job our friends had reserved tickets as there were many disappointed people turned away at the doors - even on a rainy Thursday night!

The cinema was due to screen this production for one night only, but demand was so high, they held a matinee show on the same day which also sold out.  For anyone that still wants to see this film, the cinema is putting on extra screenings on 11th and 12th February, so book now to avoid disappointment!  Click on the link for Granville Cinema on the right hand side of this page for more information.

The footage was great and really well put together by local film producer Christine Tongue.  I loved it when members of the audience were making comments like "Oo look, there's Pat, doesn't she look young!" when it flicked to a 'Disco Stu' scene at the 70s local nightclub.  There was vintage footage dating back as far as the 1920s and a great promotional film from the 1950s.

Our local cinema is a real gem, showing all the latest movies aswell as local and national theatre productions in their second theatre.  They also have theatre workshops for children with the next one taking place from 21st February (half-term) costing only £60 for 4 days.  If you want to know more about the workshops click on the following link. www.granvilletheatre.com/info/workshops
