World Food Day October 16th 2010
I am really chuffed that we have been given permission to use Fairtrade Logos on all our advertising literature. Tammy Stewart-Jones works tirelessly to promote Fairtrade in Thanet and was only too happy to award us with the privelege.
We have continued to build on our Fairtrade products and now provide 8 different Fairtrade Teas, 4 Fairtrade coffees and Fairtrade Hot Chocolate along with all our brown and white sugars. We also buy Fairtrade bananas along with locally produced fruit wherever possible.
This weekend sees another celebration in food both internationally and locally with the World Food Day and Climate Change Conference which is being held at The Winter Gardens, Margate this saturday. The doors open at 10am and close around 4pm. There will be craft and trade stalls, cookery demonstrations and food tasting with an emphasis on Fairtrade and local produce along with healthy eating.
The afternoon's conference of guest speakers will end with a South African group of singers and dancers called U'Zambezi who will perform live on stage at 3.30pm.
