Last Day of Broadstairs Food Festival
What a great event the Broadstairs Food Festival was! We managed to get over every day for the last 3 days. On friday, we were kindly invited by one of the sponsors, Levicks Accountants for a lovely lunch beautifully prepared by Age & Sons. Unfortunately, I couldn't go as we were so busy but Charlie went on our behalf and managed to eat (and drink!) for both of us. The food was fantastic according to Charlie which is to be expected from the staff at Age & Sons who have really helped put Ramsgate on the map for great places to eat. The weather has been wet and windy most of the weekend but it didn't seem to affect the turn out, especially for the final 2 days and there were over 70 stalls selling local produce from vegetables delivered to your door to gorgeous local icecreams and curries.
The Venison burgers were superb on saturday and we couldn't resist having another one today whilst we tried to catch a glimpse of Eddie Gilbert's Kitchen Demonstration. You can see from the middle picture it was standing room only in the tent - everyone wants to know how you make chips that good! The kitchen demos were carried out by some of our best local chefs over the weekend and were extremely popular and free!
Well done to all the organisers for putting on such a great event for the Isle of Thanet. We can't wait for next year!
