The High Season has come early!
Well Easter is just a week away and the sun is shining on Righteous Ramsgate! We have been blessed with gorgeous summer weather that I hope is here to stay! The beach was really busy today and as you can see from the photo, Rosie Dog is loving it!
I've been busy working with a web designer, creating a new website for Ramsgate visitors which you can check out here at Visit Ramsgate which we hope will be useful for everyone planning their trips to Ramsgate and the Isle of Thanet. It has loads of information including many of the activities we have to offer including kayaking to the seals and there's a lovely video to tempt you to go out and explore! It even has a Wet Weather section, not that we have rain in Ramsgate of course!
We've lots going on over the coming months including a craft fair on Easter Sunday where the Town Team will be there to present the Easter Eggs for those that have completed the trail and we also have a children's stall for bonnet making, facepainting and Joey the clown will be there making animal balloons. This year, we will be down at the harbour along with the Knick Nakkery Hand Craft Fair. Looping the Loop festival starts the following week on 23rd April which is always great fun and well worth checking out.
On Mayday, we have our very first Netta Syrett Bardic Fete which will be held at Charlotte and Albert Court from midday. The event is to celebrate literacy and the spoken word and we hope to 'crown' our first 'Bard of Ramsgate' by the end of the evening. Netta Syrett, a famous 19th Century author was born in Ramsgate and has an interesting story to tell! We will also be hosting a Sea Safety Event on Ramsgate Main Sands promenade and if that wasn't enough, the last May Bank Holiday will host a Stunt Bike Show featuring world renowned, stunt bike trial rider, Danny MacAskill,
Hope you get to enjoy some of our early season festivities but don't worry, there is much more to come in the following months!
