Rebekah & Charlie

Charlie and I spent over 15 years nursing before we swapped A & E for B & B and purchased Glendevon Guest House in October, 2006.

Our aim has always been to provide you with clean, comfortable accommodation that offers a healthy, restful nights sleep and an enjoyable, hearty breakfast.

Our rooms are uncluttered and unfussy with plenty of space for you to move in and feel at home. All products are chosen with your comfort in mind including hypoallergenic foam mattresses, Dunlopillo pillows and all-season duvets (choose from 4.5, 9 or 13.5 tog).

Special corporate deals for contractors and wind turbine companies – please contact for further information. Packed lunches/reduced rates/laundry services offered for longer term guests.

We want to ensure our home and business runs in the most eco-friendly way that is viable (see our environmental policy), which we continue to improve upon.

We are also assessed by Visit England to welcome Walkers and Cyclists with extra facilities to cater for your needs including safe storage of your bikes, maps, back pack packed lunches and of course, our excellently reviewed hearty breakfast!

In 2008 we were very proud to discover that not only were we included in The Lonely Planet Travel Guide but we were also listed in their ‘Greendex’ section at the back of the book (only 15 ‘green’ businesses listed for England and we are 1 of them!). In 2015, we were the winners of the Pride In Thanet Tourism Awards as voted by our customers which were very proud to accept!

At breakfast (see breakfast menu), we only use free-range eggs, Heinz baked beans, Brand name cereals, Fairtrade teas, coffee and sugar. Our wholemeal and white breads are baked on the premises and we use home made marmalades and jams.

Cancellation Policy

We are a small business so any cancellations have a big impact on us especially if we have turned away potential guests after your booking. We do realise that unforseen circumstances can occur and we do take this into consideration.

In the event of a cancellation at least 7 days prior to your arrival date, no charge will be made and any deposits will be refunded.

If you cancel within 2 – 7 days of the arrival date, a cancellation charge of the room (or rooms) for a single night stay will be made. If you have booked for 3 nights a charge for 2 days, 4 nights a charge for 3 days and so on (not including breakfast) unless the room is rebooked. Deposits will be non refundable.

If you cancel your reservation within 24 hours of the arrival date, the full cost of the room stay will be charged (not including breakfasts)

If you fail to arrive without any notification the full charge of the stay will be charged.
